# Move a player and check the result > Documentation release: **FMRTE 26** (published release). Move one player permanently to another club, then check their contract and eligibility in Football Manager. ## Before you start > **INFO** You need a [loaded savegame](https://docs.fmrte.com/26/getting-started/load-game.md) and an [activated license](https://docs.fmrte.com/26/help/licensing.md). Choose the player and destination club before starting. > **TIP** **Move to club** does not automatically exchange a transfer fee. Registration and work-permit requirements need separate checks. ## Move the player 1. Find the player, for example using [Search](https://docs.fmrte.com/26/scouting/search.md#find-a-record-by-name). 2. Open **Move to club**. 3. Check the player in **Move** and their current club in **From**. 4. Use the search button beside **To** to choose the destination club. 5. Leave **On loan** cleared for a permanent move. 6. Select **Save Changes**. [](https://docs.fmrte.com/img/fmrte26/transfers/move-to-club.png) ## Check the contract and squad 1. Reload the player in FMRTE. 2. Open **Contract** and check the club, expiry date, wages and agreed playing time. 3. Open the destination club's squad in Football Manager and find the player. 4. Check the player's contract in Football Manager. 5. Check any reason Football Manager gives for the player being unavailable. 6. Save in Football Manager when the move and contract are as intended.
