# Moving players between clubs > Documentation release: **FMRTE 26** (published release). Move a player immediately, arrange a loan, swap two players or change an agreed future transfer. For a permanent move from start to finish, follow [Move a player to another club](https://docs.fmrte.com/26/examples/move-player.md). ## Move a player immediately 1. Open the player and select **Move to club**. 2. Check **Move** and **From**, then search beside **To** for the destination. 3. Leave **On loan** clear for a permanent move. 4. Save and check the destination squad and player's contract in Football Manager. Adjust [club finances](https://docs.fmrte.com/26/clubs/finances.md) separately if wanted, and check [registration and permits](https://docs.fmrte.com/26/players/registration-and-permits.md). ## Loan a player The player must already have a full contract with another club. 1. In **Move to club**, select the destination, tick **On loan** and save. 2. Reload the player and open **Loan Contract**. 3. Set dates, wages, agreed price, monthly fees, playing time and clauses as needed. 4. Save again and check the parent club, loan club and terms in Football Manager.  ## Swap two players 1. Open **Swap Player** on the first player. 2. Search for the second player. Both need contracts. 3. Check the names and clubs, then save. 4. Check both squads and contracts in Football Manager.  ## Edit an agreed future transfer 1. Open **View Future Transfers** from the toolbar and select the deal. 2. Change the destination, dates, fee or wages as needed. Keep transfer and contract-start dates consistent. 3.
