Installing FMF files

Editor-data .fmf files change the database for a new save. They do not update an existing save.

1. Check the download​

Download a file for your Football Manager database. Extract any .zip, .rar or .7z archive so you have the .fmf itself.

Browse fixture and start-date downloads and check each file's database requirement.

2. Copy the .fmf file​

In File Explorer, open:

Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2026/editor data

Create editor data if needed, then copy the .fmf into it.

Use your chosen user-data location if it differs from these defaults.

3. Select the file for a new save​

  1. Start a new save in Football Manager.
  2. Open the database's editor-data selection and tick the file.
  3. Resolve any compatibility warnings, then complete setup.
  4. Check one change the file is meant to provide.

The exact selection screen can differ between game interfaces.

Worked example: prepare the Spain real-fixtures file​

Download the Spain file, copy it into editor data, and select it during setup. Load the covered Spanish divisions, then compare the schedule with the download's listed fixtures or results.

If the file does not appear​

Check that it is extracted, ends in .fmf, sits in the correct editor data folder, and matches the selected database. Create a new save after copying it.
